Determine need for echocardiographic investigation for infectious endocarditis in patients with monomicrobial Enterococcus faecalis bacteremia.

This tool helps clinicians define patients at high risk for IE with Enterococcus faecalis bacteremia that would benefit from an echocardiography or nor. It is a quite useful tool to avoid unnecessary diagnostic tests. With a cutoff at ≥ 3 points DENOVA had a sensitivity of 100% and a specificity of 83% to identify episodes of IE in Enterococcus faecalis bacteremia.
